Random Lyrics

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm is a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain.
Though your dreams be tossed and blown...
Walk on, Walk on with hope in your heart
and you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone.

Say "NO" to Chicago

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 - 8:48pm General Choir Chat
As many of you may know, certain choir booster members, who shall remain nameless, have taken it upon themselves to decide that we will be going to Chicago for two days for our annual trip over spring break. This is absolutely absurd! Why would we want to take a trip to Chicago when we could go there any old time? I think that there are many alternatives that we aren't considering. Maybe most students don't care if they will be gone during holy week. Maybe the students should be asked before it's decided that no one would be able to go during holy week. Maybe certain booster members haven't even considered the fact that we have a four day weekend during february that might be an alternative. Maybe we should take all these things into consideration before making a decision. Some of us are seniors, and do not want to miss our last choir trip because we're going somewhere lame. So my final plea to the boosters: Please don't make any hasty decisions that will leave you with an empty bus in April. Consider the feelings of the students, the ones who really count, instead of only thinking of your own agendas.

"Just say NO!"

When you talk about OUR LAST choir field trip of our LIVES, how dare you utter the city of "chicago"? I won't even get into the reasons why we shouldn't go to Chicago because I think it should be quite obvious. And why on Earth would you try and push it upon us so forcefully? It might be a good economic choice and juniors and junior parents probably don't even care b-c it's not that important to them. But just to let you know it's important to us. And we are NOT going to Chicago. You guys might, but we are going to go sing and dance somewhere else!!! So the next time the Spring Break trip comes up at the Booster meeting, remember, your children are Boycotting the Chicago trip and NO NO WE WON'T GO!

I am in choir, but I am only a sophomore. I think that you guys are being really ungrateful. You have been on exotic field trips many times and going some place that you consider "cool" can not be economically correct. Alot of choral programs dont even get a field trip during spring break, we'd be lucky to go anywhere. Id be fine graduating only going to Chicago...as long as I had a fun time with my friends. You better check that attitude, and do it with a smile on your face.

Hello, as this has become a topic I feel qualified to address it. 1st please learn the names of the booster officers, there are only four of us so that really shouldn't be too difficult. 2nd the spring trip was an item brought up for prelimanary discussion at the last choir booster meeting. This means that this will now be an agenda item until plans are finalized much later in the school year. 3rd I will not address that fact that the author feels he or she can speak on behalf of all students as far as Holy Week is concerned. 4th no the winter break time frame was not discussed, however if you attend the next meeting feel free to bring this idea up during the "new business" portion of the agenda. 5th as far as Chicago being "lame" I would suggest that from the viewpoint of someone who does not live 35 miles away from it that it's a very nice place. However if Mr. Emig who ultamately has final decision on the destination if it is Chicago it will be your decision to attend or not. Finally as far as myself I will speak on behalf on my fellow officers we have no agendas, hidden or otherwise, and I take offence to that suggestion.
If we were not concerned about the good of the program in whole we would not be serving as officers. If you have any questions or suggestions for the good of the program I strongly suggest you free up some time on November 4th at 7pm and attend the choir booster meeting. Thanks for reading and..."Have a Good Day" Sincerely, Dave Festa, Choir Booster President.

M~Vill vs. Hobart

I think that Hobart's Wolffgang is a verry strong group. Why can't we be that strong?

I see Chicago all the time

I am a senior who has not yet been on a choir trip. This IS my last year here, and maybe I cannot speak on behalf of EVERYBODY, but many people agree that they would not like to go to Chicago. It is not a matter of ungratefulness, because I could go to Chicago on my own time. That's the whole point. Most of us would like to go someplace we don't get the opportunity to go that often. Chicago is only an hour a way, and there is not much new things to witness there. If it concerns Holy Week, whose to say the choir members can't celebrate their Lord in a different city than Merrillville? I know I'll still praise him, so it won't effect me. Think about it.
